Mary Ann Drabczyk

Mary Ann (Penepent) Drabczyk, of Amherst, NY, daughter of the late Philip A. Penepent, Sr. and the late Concetta F. (DeFazio) Penepent, passed away November 8, 2017.  She is survived by her husband of 43 years, Edward J.P. Drabczyk; daughter, Mary Lucy Drabczyk; and siblings, Philip A. Penepent Jr., MD, Michael A. Penepent, and David R. Penepent, PhD.

Mary Ann attended GCC and Buffalo State College before earning her M.B.A. at Canisius College.  She began her government career at the IRS in 1989, receiving many awards for excellence in customer service.  In 1999, she accepted a position with the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, investigating employment discrimination.  She was also enrolled in the mentorship program, assisted in her office’s internship program, and she was responsible for coordinating the annual Combined Federal Campaign for her office.

In her free time, Mary Ann was active at St. Christopher Parish in Tonawanda, NY, where she helped her daughter direct the children’s choir, volunteered for Summerfest, and ushered.  She was also a supporter of the Brighton Place Library.

Memorials can be made in her memory to Villa Maria College, Development Office, 240 Pine Ridge Rd, Buffalo, NY 14225 or to St. Christopher Parish, 2660 Niagara Falls Blvd, Tonawanda, NY 14150.

The family will be present at Hamp Funeral Home, 37 Adam St., Tonawanda, on Thursday November 16th and Friday November 17th from 2 – 4 PM and 7 – 9 PM.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Christopher Parish on Saturday November 18th at 11:30 AM.  EVERYONE PLEASE ASSEMBLE IN CHURCH AT 11:00 AM. Burial following in Mount Olivet Cemetery, Tonawanda, NY. Arrangements entrusted to ZAJAC FUNERAL HOME INC.
