Obituary of David Colangelo Sr.
David M. Colangelo Sr. 60 of Niagara Falls, NY passed away Thursday April 13, 2017 at Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center surrounded by his loving family. Born on February 27, 1957 in Niagara Falls, NY, he was the son of Ralph and Joan (Markel) Colangelo Sr.
David was a lifelong resident of Niagara Falls, and graduated from Trott Vocational High School in 1975. He worked in supervision at many plants in the Niagara Falls area after graduation. In 1990 Colangelo Construction was started. Dave loved having his own business and did many remodels and new builds around the area for more than 20 years. After which he went to work for the Niagara Falls Housing Authority as their clerk of the works.
On August 28, 1976 he married his wife of 40 years, Vittoria "Vicky" Iacovitti. To this union 2 children were born, David (Heather) Colangelo Jr., and Dana Colangelo. Besides his loving wife and two children he is survived by his three grandchildren, Scott, David III, and Adrianna Colangelo; his siblings Gregory (MaryAnn) Colangelo, Katherine (Brian) Gaffney, and Thomas (Georgina) Colangelo; nephews, Andrew and Dominic Colangelo, Brian and Cole Gaffney. Also survived by an aunt and many cousins. He was the brother of the late Ralph Colangelo Jr.
Friends may call Monday, April 17th from 2-4 & 7-9 PM at ZAJAC FUNERAL HOME INC., 319 24th Street, cor of Welch Ave, Niagara Falls, NY, where prayer services will begin at 9:30 AM on Tuesday April 18th. Followed by a Mass of Christian burial 10:00 AM at St. Raphael's R.C. Church, 3840 Macklem Avenue, Niagara Falls, NY with Rev. Ivan Skenderovic officiating. Burial following in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Niagara Falls, NY.
