Joseph G. Gromniak, 87, of Niagara Falls, NY passed away on Wednesday, September 4, 2019 at Catskill Regional Medical Center, Harris, NY. Born in Nanticoke, Pennsylvania on March 11, 1932 he was the son of the late George and Isabel (Kupinewicz) Gromniak. Joseph entered the United States Army on July 6, 1950, serving during The Korean War. He was honorable discharged July 1953 as a PFC. Joseph received the Combat Infantry Badge, Korean Service Medal W/2 Bronze Service Stars and the United Nations Service Medal for his service. After serving his country, he began working as a Layout Man/ Fitter and was a union member of Universal Medal Welding. He is survived by his sister, Joan Stuber and many nieces and nephews. Besides his parents he was predeceased by his son, Joseph Gromniak Jr.; brothers, Edward Gromniak and George Gromniak Jr. and sister, Helen Lang. Friends may call Wednesday, September 11th from 9AM-12PM at ZAJAC FUNERAL HOME INC., 319 24th Street, cor of Welch Ave, Niagara Falls, NY, where funeral services will begin at 12:00 PM with Rev. Jacek Mazur officiating. Burial with Military Honors following in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Lewiston, NY.
