Obituary of Ronald A. Fadel

Ronald Fadel passed away on August 17, 2021 after a struggle with kidney failure. Ronald was born in Niagara Falls, NY on August 21, 1938 to Michael and Eva (Mokhiber) Fadel. He graduated from Niagara Falls High School in 1956. He attended LCC in Michigan and the University of Buffalo, where he played football. In 1963, Ron proudly served in the US Army while stationed in Germany. Ron owned and operated a number of restaurants during his career. Co-owner of R&R Corral Steak House on Prospect Street at the entrance to Niagara Falls State Park before relocating to Charlotte, NC, with his wife Diane (Hopkins) in 1970. For 45 years, Ron operated successful Charlotte restaurants, including the Southern 500 Truck Stop and Hathaway's Chicken. In 2015 Ron retired to Niagara Falls becoming an active member of his family's lifelong church. He is survived by his daughter, Athena Braswell and beloved grandchildren Matthew (Lauren) Braswell, Destinee Braswell, Kayden Rowell; two great grandchildren; his sister, Beatrice Skory (late Mitchel); and brother, Robert (Kristi) Fadel. Ronald's wife Diane predeceased him in 2001. He was also predeceased by his brother Joseph (Nettie) Elias, and sisters Agnes Fadel, Lorraine (Stanley) Bialik, Anne (George) Sawma, and Nettie Fadel. He will be missed by his nieces and nephews, especially Renee (Robert) Zaleski. Ron's passion for life and fierce loyalty will be missed by all who loved him. Friends may call Friday, August 20th from 5-7PM at St. George's Orthodox Church, 1073 Saundersettlement Road, Niagara Falls, NY, where funeral services will also be held at 10AM, Saturday, August 21st.
