Obituary of Helen C. Kava

Helen C Kava, 94, passed away on Saturday, January 8, 2022 at MSM Hospital after a short illness. Born in Larksville, PA on March 15, 1927. She was the daughter of the late Anthony and Catherine (Gac) Kava. Helen was a graduate of Larksville High School and was employed at R.K. Laros Silk Company as a seamstress sewing slips. After the factory closed down, she took care of her loving parents and brother, Adam and sister Johanna at home prior to their passing. She was a life member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Larksville, PA and was active in the choir and the Sodality of the Blessed Mother for many years. Her vegetable garden and rows of Gladiolas took up her entire back yard and was her pride and joy. In her later years, neighbors Juni & Deb Bernardoni took care of her home and tended to anything that needed to be done when she came to Niagara Falls. Cousins also helped Helen: Anne Kotch, Marie Skoronski and Rosalie Zuba & Ed Harry before her move to Niagara Falls. Helen came to live in Niagara Falls with her niece Michelle after a Hospitalization in 2014.
