Please share a memory of Loretta to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Loretta Jean "Jeannie" Kudela (Cook), died peacefully on November 2, 2022. She was 67 years old. Jeannie was born on July 28, 1955 in Niagara Falls, NY to the late H. Eldon and Mary (nee Wilson) Cook. Jeannie attended local schools. She especially cherished the memories she had from her time attending the old 39th Street Elementary School. Upon graduating from Niagara Falls High School in 1973, she worked at various hotels as a banquet server. Her longest tenured position was as the Banquet Manager at the Best Western on Buffalo Ave. Jeannie was an entrepreneur. In 1986, she and her beloved husband, Richard P. Kudela Sr, (deceased 2019), opened Rich's Expert Door Service in Niagara Falls, NY. Jeannie was responsible for the day-to-day operations of the business, and she performed her duties meticulously, and with diligence. Over 33 years, the business provided jobs and skilled-trade training to numerous nephews and family members. It was, and still is, a true family business. Her true life's work was as a devoted mother to her three children, Richard Jr., Paul & Katie. Jeannie always volunteered her time as a Room-Mom at Niagara Street Elementary School, and Gaskill Middle School and she was very involved in their parent clubs. She always made sure every child had warm clothes, something to eat and the best education. Jeannie is predeceased by her husband, Richard Kudela Sr. (dec. 2019); daughter, Katie Pratt (nee Kudela, dec. 2020) and brother, William Cook (dec. 2010). She is survived by her son's Richard Jr. (Jessica), and Paul (Danielle); her son-in-law Terence Pratt; and grandchildren Evangeline, Liam, Ryan, and Zoe. She is also survived by many loving cousins, in-laws, nieces, and nephews, especially her niece Cathy Cook-Leslie and cousin Linda Brode. Jeannie will be dearly missed by others she considered family, especially her best friend Donna Munro, fellow Niagara Falls Firefighter's and their families and her "3rd son" Farzad Jalil. At the wishes of Jeannie, there will be no prior visitation and a Celebration of Life gathering will take place on a later date.
