Obituary of Tadeusz Buchalski Sr.

Tadeusz M. ''Teddy'' Buchalski Sr., 82, of Niagara Falls, NY passed away on Friday, May 11, 2018 at De Graff Memorial Hospital. Born in Niagara Falls, NY on September 21, 1935 he was the son of the late Stephen and Felicia (Niepon) Buchalski and attended local schools.

Teddy entered the United States Army on January 25, 1956, serving during the Korean War as an armor crewman. For his service he received the good conduct medal and was honorably discharged on November 23, 1957 as a Sergeant. In 1959, he became a Niagara Falls Police Officer, well still serving his country in the Army National Guard. Teddy served his community as an officer with the Niagara Falls Police Department until his retirement in the year 2000, as a Detective Lieutenant.

He is survived by two sons, Michael A.(Brenda) Buchalski and Thaddeus "Teddy" M.(Cheryl) Buchalski Jr.; grandson, Michael Buchalski II; brothers, Henry (Carole) Buchalski and Walter Buchalski; brother in-laws, George (Cathy) Kunecki and Anthony (Judy) Kunecki. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents he was predeceased by his wife, Stella K.(Kunecki); brothers, Leo, Chester, John, Felix and Matthew and sister, Stella J. Maurer.

Friends may call Wednesday, May 16th from 7-9 PM and Thursday, May 17th from 2-4 PM & 7-9 PM at ZAJAC FUNERAL HOME INC., 319 24th Street, cor of Welch Ave, Niagara Falls, NY. A Mass of Christian burial will begin at 10:00 AM on Friday May18th at St. Michael The Archangel Parish of The National Catholic Church, 250 27th Street, Niagara Falls, NY with Very Rev Francis M. Kadryna officiating. Burial with military honors following in St. Michaels Cemetery, Niagara Falls, NY.
