Obituary of William Peter Lauzonis
William Peter Lauzonis, formerly of Niagara Falls, died April 2, 2019 in Richmond, VA after a brief illness. Born December 23, 1934, he was the youngest son of eleven children of the late Jacob and Mary (Kamarauskas) Lauzonis.
William graduated from Niagara Falls High School in 1953 and served in the United States Coast Guard. He was a precious metal refiner at Hoover & Strong and an active member of St. Edward the Confessor Catholic Church and Knights of Columbus in Richmond.
William is predeceased by his wife of 52 years, Patricia Judith (Heiman) Lauzonis and two sons, Dr. Peter Lauzonis and Mark Lauzonis. He is survived by his daughters, Patricia A. Kohlbacher (David) of Chaffee, NY and Susan M. Sawyer of Chesterfield, VA; daughter-in-law, Delores Lauzonis of Richmond; 15 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren; sisters, Nellie (late John) Tubinis of Niagara Falls; Patricia (Walter) Schultz of Lewiston, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. He is predeceased by brothers Alexander, Joseph (late Helen Rybarczyk), John (late Marie Paul), Anthony (late Lillian Kulik), Jacob (late Bernice Struminski), George (Josephine Kowalczyk); sisters Helen (late Chester) Wrobel and Mary Lauzonis.
A Mass of Christian burial was held at St. Edward the Confessor Catholic Church in Richmond.
The family will be present at Zajac Funeral Home, 319 24th Street, Niagara Falls, NY, Sunday, April 14 from 3-6 p.m. Services will be held at the Funeral Home on Monday, April 15, at 9:30 a.m. with Rev.
