Obituary of Charles O. Olick M.D.

Charles O. Olick M.D., 86, of Pendleton, NY passed away on Monday, June 22, 2020 at Roswell Park Cancer Institute. Born in Tonawanda, NY on August 4, 1933 he was the son of the late Steve and Rose (Konnyu) Olick and graduated from Riverside High School. Charles entered the United States Army on June 22, 1954. Well serving his country he attended Army Language school and became fluent in many languages. He received the National Defense Service Medal, Good Conduct Medal and was honored by the 532nd Military Battalion with the title Grenadir. Charles was honorably discharged on June 5, 1957 as a SP3. After serving his country he attended the UB School of Medicine, graduating in 1962, at which time he began his career as a Medical Doctor. He enjoyed practicing medicine for 56 years, until his retirement. Charles enjoyed animals and was very proud of the wildlife habitat that he lovingly created and cared for. He was also an avid reader and his favorite artist was his great uncle, William Pogany. Charles also had a passion for the theater. His favorite plays were seen at the Shaw Festival. He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Lisa (Bugel) Olick; children, Lisa Rose Olick, Larissa Olick and Alexandria Olick and Mark (Francesca) Olick. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by son, Matthew Olick; sisters, Olga Olick and Emma Grisanti and brother, Steven Olick. Charles's family would like to send a special thank you to his exceptional friends, Dr. A. Islam; Gwen Tessman; good neighbor and friend, Martin Boudreaukt; Dr. A. Prezespolewski and the leukemia team at Roswell. There is NO PRIOR visitation. Private Funeral services & Burial with Military honors in Riverdale Cemetery, Lewiston, NY., will take place at the convenience of the family.
