Obituary of Edward Rajczak
Edward "Edu" Rajczak,78, of Niagara Falls, N.Y. died Thursday, December 24, 2020 at Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center. Born in Niagara Falls, N.Y., he was the son of the late Felix "Fizzy" and Irene A. (Placek) Rajczak. He attended local schools. Ed was a proud firefighter for the city of Niagara Falls, N.Y. for 20+ years. During his career, he was awarded a commendation from the N.Y. State Parks for a daring gorge rescue in 1979, among other accolades.
Despite his accomplishments, Ed was not boastful. In earlier years, Ed purchased a farm and moved his family out of the city to Ransomville. There they raised animals and cultivated the land. In later years, he kept his enjoyment for gardening along with his ability to be a "jack of all trades"- he could fix, build or repair almost anything. From his dad, he learned all aspects of construction from design to build, and he passed those skills along to his children. Much of his work (and his dads work) can be seen throughout the city. He enjoyed cooking and preparing Polish foods. He had a quick wit and good sense of humor about all things. He was most proud of his family and his Polish Heritage.
Edward is survived by this three children, Edward Rajczak, Matthew (Rose) Rajczak and Maria Bergeron: his brother Joseph (Terri) Rajczak and sister Vicki Rajczak Fasciano: one brother-in-law, John Mis: five grandchildren- Anthony, Trent and Rachel Rajczak, Beau and Cate Bergeron: his longtime companion and loving caregiver, Elizabeth "Beth" Myrtle: very good friend, Bruce Houck: former spouse, Marie Rajczak: and his loyal furry friend, his dog Lucy, along with several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He is pre-deceased by his parents and five siblings, Barbara (Gene) Pawlik, Phyllis Mis, Andrew, Kathleen and Irene Rajczak.
To honor his wishes, the family requests that in lieu of flowers or gifts, please consider making a contribution in memory of Ed to the Niagara Falls Firefighters Toy Fund (The Niagara Falls Firefighters Toy Fund, P.O.
