Obituary of Aurelia H. Holtyn

Aurelia H. ''Lola'' Holtyn, 95, of Niagara Falls, NY passed away on Tuesday, January 19, 2021 at Northgate Health Care Facility. Born in Niagara Falls, NY on January 4, 1926 she was the daughter of the late Walter and Stella (Ziolkowski) Sklarski. Lola grew up in Lockport and graduated from Lockport High School. She married the love of her life, Henry L. Holtyn on June 5, 1948. She worked in the office at Ted's Motor Sales Inc. and Hudson dealership for 20 years, which was owned by her husband and her brother Ted. After the business was bought by urban renewal in the 1970's, she went to work at the Ramada Inn on Buffalo Ave, in the Accounts Receivable Department. After semi-retiring, she worked for the Niagara County Nutrition Program as the site director at the St. Michael's location, where she enjoyed providing the seniors with activities, local area tours, and conversation. Lola was a life long member of St. Michaels PNCC, the Frederick Chopin Choir, Ladies Adoration Society and a long-time bingo caller at St. Michaels bingo, when it was a the Volare Lodge. Above all Lola enjoyed spending time with her daughter, 2 grandchildren and great-grandson. She is survived by her daughter, Lydia (George) Shiposki; granddaughter, Stacie (Steve) Meister; grandson, Matthew (Berna) Shiposki and great grandson, Jayce Meister. Besides her husband and parents, she was predeceased by her brother, Ted Sklarski. Friends may call Saturday, January 23rd from 12 PM- 2 PM at ZAJAC FUNERAL HOME INC., 319 24th Street, cor of Welch Ave, Niagara Falls, NY, where funeral services will begin at 2PM with the Very Rev. Francis M. Kadryna officiating. Burial following in St. Michaels Cemetery, Lewiston, NY. In Lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to the St. Michael Cemetery Fund, 250 27th Street, Niagara Falls, NY 14303.
