Lorraine R. Stefik, 93, of Niagara Falls died suddenly in her sleep at the Grand Island Elderwood rehabilitation facility Monday the evening of April 5. Born in Niagara Falls on August 8, 1927, where she resided all her life, she was the daughter of the late Sarva and Agatha Rodenko.
For a number of years, she worked at the Twin Fair department store before becoming first a bookkeeping assistant and then full-time bookkeeper for the LaSalle Yacht Club from which she retired in 1992.
She enjoyed bowling and participated in league play, also gardening and walking. After her retirement she enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren and baking, especially for holidays.
Lorraine was predeceased by her husband Joseph in 2004 and by her two sisters, Dorothy Grabowski (Niagara Falls) and Geraldine Ellsworth (Venice, Florida).
She is survived by her daughter Nanette Paonessa (Niagara Falls), son Thomas (Niagara Falls) and grandchildren Joseph (Rosalie Caruso) Paonessa of Buffalo and Lisa Paonessa of Wheatfield and also, many nieces and nephews.
